Jennifer Smith
A former reporter for one of the world’s leading news organizations, Jennifer knows what makes a story stand out.
Before joining Greentarget, Jennifer Smith was a journalist at The Wall Street Journal for over a decade, covering topics including supply chain, logistics, cultural institutions and the legal profession.
In addition to breaking news on the biggest law firm failure in U.S. history, Jennifer worked as a reporter at Newsday on Long Island, where she won awards for her coverage of environmental issues and other topics. She also was an adjunct professor at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.
In her more than 20 years covering business, national and local news, Jennifer has gained valuable insight into what makes content compelling, urgent and relevant for readers. Leading a team of seasoned editors and writers in her role as Director of Content & Editorial Strategy, Jennifer uses the factual rigor and narrative techniques of journalism to craft authoritative content that aligns business goals with what audiences need to know.
While at the Journal, Jennifer also was an advocate for social justice, participating in Women at DJ — a resource and advocacy group for women at Dow Jones — and working on diversity and pay equity efforts, both internally and as a member of the union representing Dow Jones employees.
Jennifer earned an M.S. in journalism, with honors, from Columbia University and a B.A. in European and Islamic history, with highest honors, from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
