Aaron Schoenherr
Striving for a work environment that puts talent first is what motivated Aaron to co-found Greentarget in 2005, a firm that is now among the largest in the U.S. focused exclusively on the unique communications needs of professional services firms. Today he helps lead the firm fueled by a world-class team and a culture that promotes the personal and professional stretch.
Aaron’s big-picture perspective underpins his strategic guidance for professional services firms in all aspects of marketing communications with an emphasis on crisis management, executive communications, thought leadership marketing, internal communications, litigation support, message development and executive media training.
Aaron has a passion for exploring the evolving definition of “authority” and the most effective approaches to establishing true authority within today’s sea of noise. He is an avid consumer of “legacy media” and still prefers a print newspaper, despite the strange looks it tends to solicit during his morning commute.
Previously, Aaron held roles as a crisis spokesperson for SBC/Ameritech (now AT&T) and leverages that experience to regularly provide media training to senior executives in preparation for high-profile media inquiries and speaking engagements. He began his career in public affairs at Caterpillar’s Engine Division after logging some earlier “field experience” during college summers driving dump trucks full of scalding blacktop.
Aaron can often be found checking out live music and enjoys exploring the parallels between live musicians and high-performing teams.
He currently serves on Illinois State University’s Department of Communication Advisory Board, where he graduated summa cum laude, and was named the Department of Communication’s “Outstanding Alumni.”

P.S.
Aaron thrives on the controlled chaos of having three children with wide ranging interests and involvement in numerous activities ranging from dance to hockey to music. He can often be found checking out live music and is fascinated by the parallels between live musicians and high-performing teams.
